Description
Designing a pool overlooking a lake requires careful integration with the natural surroundings. The pool sits unobtrusively in the yard, not overtaking the lake and mountain view, merely complimenting it. The use of natural stone with timber decking, soft landscaping kept a modern yet minimalistic and sleek integration of the pool within its environment.
Despite the build using a typical box and pour method with shotcrete, site location was an obstacle to overcome - concrete for the pour needed to come from town and be driven through rural access. The site, while stunning, is quite exposed to the elements. Timing some aspects of construction around weather was important, but climate conditions throughout the year meant considerations were needed for the pool cover and heat pump to meet the clients expectations.
